I am not a professional graphic artist. However, I do work in the graphics department of a large company, and am always dabbling on my own personal time. I have donated 2 logos that I created–1 for a rock band, and 1 for a non-profit organization. They were willing to pay, but I declined because they were my friends. I am starting to get recognition for the work I did, and getting requests to create logos for other businesses/organizations. How much should I charge for a simple logo? And what about the legal side–do I need to get a license? I have never sold anything in my life, and have no clue where to start. Can someone give me some guidelines? Thank you.

Usually it depends on the time and difficulty to create the logo. In Switzerland the prices can range from 50 to 150 dollars.
